چکیده

High performance systems, like the F-16, when pushed to their limits encounter qualitative changes in control system properties like loss of controllability or observability. This work identifies and characterizes bifurcations occurring in a nonlinear six degree of freedom F-16 in two scenarios straight and level flight and in a coordinated turn. Phenomena such as stall, tumbling and spin-roll departure were observed around bifurcation points. This work provides a basis for a formal understanding of how aircraft depart from controlled flight, it is a prerequisite for the systematic design of recovery strategies, and it will contribute to the design of reconfigurable control of impaired aircraft. Normal forms of Hopf Singularities: Focus Values Along with some Applications in Physics

This paper aims to introduce the original ideas of normal form theory and bifurcation analysis and control of small amplitude limit cycles in a non-technical terms so that it would be comprehensible to wide ranges of Persian speaking engineers and physicists. The history of normal form goes back to more than one hundreds ago, that is to the original ideas coming from Henry Poincare. This tool p...

Optimal nonlinear control of flight faults in manned aircrafts in the presence of fault and failure of control actuato

Control actuators' faults are among the major reasons to lose aircraft control while flights. The plane dynamics is severely dependent upon faults and errors in flight control systems and if the reformed control order is not issued by the fault tolerant controller there would be unpleasant outcomes such as inconsistency and the reduction of system performance and some dreadful aerial accide...

Vehicle Directional Stability Control Using Bifurcation Analysis of Yaw Rate Equilibrium

In this article, vehicle cornering stability and brake stabilization via bifurcation analysis has been investigated. In order to extract the governing equations of motion, a nonlinear four-wheeled vehicle model with two degrees of freedom has been developed. Using the continuation software package MatCont a stability analysis based on phase plane analysis and bifurcation of equilibrium is perfo...

BIFURCATION ANALYSIS OF A DDE MODEL OF THE CORAL REEF

‎In this paper‎, ‎first we discuss a local stability analysis of model was introduced by P‎. ‎J‎. ‎Mumby et‎. ‎al‎. ‎(2007)‎, ‎with $frac{gM^{2}}{M+T}$ as the functional response term‎. ‎We conclude that the grazing intensity is the important parameter to control the existence or extinction of the coral reef‎. ‎Next‎, ‎we consider this model under the influence of the time delay as the bifurcat...

Flight mechanics of a tailless articulated wing aircraft.

This paper investigates the flight mechanics of a micro aerial vehicle without a vertical tail in an effort to reverse-engineer the agility of avian flight. The key to stability and control of such a tailless aircraft lies in the ability to control the incidence angles and dihedral angles of both wings independently. The dihedral angles can be varied symmetrically on both wings to control aircr...
